Ever wonder how to take a good idea and turn it into a business? Joel Nkounkou ‘18 asked himself the same thing while he was a student-athlete at UNH. As a high schooler, Nkounkou got his start in the tech industry as a summer intern at UNH’s InterOperability Lab. Later on while he worked there during college, he had the idea to make electronic textbooks accessible to all students for a flat fee, by embedding the cost in their tuition. With a little help from the Peter T. Paul Entrepreneurship Center at UNH, Joel co-founded the startup ecoText. Today, he’s continuing to grow the business alongside several former teammates and students.
