How many libraries does UNH have?

UNH has three libraries:

  • Dimond Library is UNH's main library, located at the center of campus. Dimond Library is home to Special Collections and University Archives, where you can explore rare materials and UNH history. The building also houses several partner offices that provide academic and student support, making it a central hub for both research and connection.
  • Kingsbury Library is located in Kingsbury Hall and serves the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
  • The Physics Library is located in DeMeritt Hall and provides reference services and materials on physics and astronomy.

How do I borrow items from the UNH libraries?

To borrow materials from the UNH Library, you'll need your UNH ID, which serves as your library card. The borrowing period for most books is four weeks. You can request books, articles and other items that UNH does not have through Interlibrary Loan

Can I use a computer or printer in the library?

Printers are available at all UNH Library locations, with scanners located in Dimond Library. The library also provides computers, including those that require a UNH login and offer access to specialized software only for students, faculty and staff.

The Library of Things offers even more support, with technology available to borrow including laptops, microphones, calculators and DSLR cameras. These resources provide the tools you need for both academic and creative work.

Can I ask a librarian for help?

UNH librarians are here to support your academic success, and you don’t have to navigate research alone. You can make an appointment with a UNH librarian for one-on-one help — whether you're just starting a project or refining your final paper.

Librarians can help with:

  • Finding articles, books, media and other sources (including scholarly and peer-reviewed materials)
  • Citing your sources correctly
  • Developing, refining or narrowing your research topic
  • Searching library databases effectively
