Best Outdoor Green Spaces on the University of New Hampshire Campus
If you want to attend a college campus where there are great spaces to study outside, hang a hammock or toss a frisbee on a warm day and generally enjoy plenty of outdoor space, the University of New Hampshire Durham campus is the right place for you! T-Hall Lawn
The lawn in front of Thompson Hall (T-Hall) is a favorite place for students to hang out on a warm day. In the fall and spring, students will roll out blankets and bring frisbees, hammocks and lawn games outdoors to enjoy the weather. Some professors will also hold outdoor class on T-Hall Lawn and it's the perfect place for students in art classes to sketch or paint outdoors. T-Hall Lawn is also where UDay takes place each fall, a huge campus-wide picnic and opportunity to learn more about student organizations.

The Fishbowl
The Fishbowl is another favorite campus lawn, located in front of Scott Residence Hall. Students love doing homework on the picnic tables here or tossing a frisbee or a football on a warm day. The Fishbowl is located at the center of campus, so it is the perfect place to spend time in between classes or after eating at Holloway Commons (HoCo) dining hall!

Did you know that UNH has about 250 acres of woods, streams and small fields? College Woods is the perfect place to explore the outdoors at any time of year. Students enjoy going for nature walks and runs or cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the woods. Classes and research also take place in College Woods.

Boulder Field is one of four outdoor recreational fields at UNH, which are used for community events and recreation. Boulder Field is used for campus recreation programs, as well as fun events like the senior picnic.

Mendums Pond
Located just 15 minutes from campus, Mendums Pond is 200-acre outdoor recreation area that's free for UNH students to access. The pond is great for boating, picnicking and swimming. Canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are available for rent, making it the perfect way to escape busy campus life and relax.
