1. Activities at the Memorial Union Building (MUB)

The MUB is the center of student life and activities at UNH, offering a variety of ways for students to meet friends and find community on campus. UNH students love attending social programs at the MUB that range from making stuffed animals to playing laser tag. The MUB also houses the Games Room where students can play table tennis, Playstation, Xbox One and more!

2. Exploring Downtown Durham

Our college downtown, Durham, is just steps away from campus, making it the perfect place to hang out. UNH students enjoy taking a break from the dining halls to grab food in downtown Durham, from coffee to pizza to Thai food. There are also a variety of stores to explore and the Durham Farmer's Market operates out of the mini-park downtown throughout the early fall.

3. Taking a Day Trip (By Bus or Car)

The Seacoast of New Hampshire has so much to offer and UNH students appreciate the ability to use Wildcat Transit to hop on a bus to shop, eat, attend arts performances and more in nearby towns like Dover and Portsmouth. In the warmer months, it's easy to enjoy a beach day in Rye (only 30 minutes from campus).

Our campus Amtrak station makes it easy to take the train to nearby destinations. Students can take a trip to Boston, Massachusetts to visit museums like the Museum of Fine Arts and see the city's history through experiences like the Freedom Trail. Portland, Maine, also accessible by train, offers a wide variety of options for dining, shopping and live music.

UNH students love being able to relax and enjoy all that campus has to offer on the weekends. There are plenty of places to hang out on campus, including residence hall rooms and communal lounges, as well as beautiful green spaces where students can hang a hammock or spread out a blanket on a warm day. Students also like to get active on the weekends by attending workout classes or using equipment from weights to a bouldering wall in the Hamel Recreation Center. The trails of College Woods also offer a scenic natural escape.
