Admissions Regions: Illinois, Florida, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts (Worcester County except Fitchburg City), Minnesota
Hi! I’m your admissions counselor, Evan. Here’s a little bit about myself, as well as my contact information. I look forward to working with you!
Where is your favorite place on campus?
The Wildcat Statue
What’s your favorite thing to eat on campus?
The UNH Dining facilities are second to none – but one of my favorite places to grab a bit to eat would be Franz's Food downtown. The sandwiches are divine and they have, arguably, the best french fries in the New Hampshire Seacoast region.
Favorite memory at UNH?
When I was a senior at UNH, I was able to throw the fish out on the ice at a UNH rivalry hockey game. Tradition is a very important part of the UNH experience and it had been a bucket list item of mine since seeing a hockey game at the Whitt when I was 14.
What makes UNH so special?
I feel like UNH is a place that any young person can come to succeed. There is something about this place –it might be the community, the setting, the culture – that allows students to come to campus, live in the residence halls, and make a home for themselves. UNH where I first felt comfortable in my own skin; a place where I could be myself for the first time without judgement. UNH is a place that I felt that I could make a difference as a student and it’s a place that has left a permanent mark on my life.
What’s your favorite UNH tradition?
My favorite UNH tradition would be hockey. More specifically, when UNH scores the first goal of the night, a large, fresh fish is thrown over the glass at the opposing goalie. There are mixed stories about the meaning behind this tradition, but when I was able to pick up the fish from the ice my freshman year to throwing it out on the ice my senior year, the back story didn’t exactly matter –I was part of the UNH tradition!
Where did you grow up?
What college did you attend/degree earned?
I graduated from UNH in 2014 from the College of Health and Human Services with a B.S. in Kinesiology: Sport Studies and a minor in Business Administration.
I am the middle child. Two older brothers and a younger brother(Trevor)and sister(Elizabeth)who are both currently in high school. We had two hermit crabs as pets for my younger siblings because “they didn’t last too long”... well, they lasted for 7 years. My parents were not happy!
Do you have any hidden talents?
If I didn’t work in admissions, I think I could manage a pretty mean travel blog... Put me on a plane and I will go anywhere without hesitation!
Any fun facts about yourself?
My UNH experience means a lot to me. I have a Wildcat tattoo and a license plate on my car that says "GO2UNH."
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done in your life?
To celebrate graduation from UNH, my best friend and I went on a cruise to Mexico. During this trip we went snorkeling and diving in natural rivers and coves – swimming through the mangrove trees, zip-lining and cliff-diving into the ocean. If I was to choose anywhere to vacation again, I would probably choose for it to be there again.
