Transfer Students

Thank you for considering the University of New Hampshire. This website contains information you need to know about transferring to UNH, including admissions criteria, financial aid, credit transfer, housing, and campus visits.

If you have matriculated at another college or accumulated more than 16 semester hours of college credit at any institution, we consider you a transfer student.

While the University does not guarantee on-campus housing for transfer students, you may contact the Housing Office at (603) 862-2120 regarding the availability of on-campus housing and placing your name on the housing wait-list. We also have available lists for off-campus housing, including a roommate listing.

Transfer students may apply for need-based financial aid; however, no merit-based scholarships are available.

Important Transfer Student News

  • We are not accepting any applications for fall 2009 into Health Management & Policy, Undeclared Health & Human Services, or Nursing due to space limitations. The only exception is for those students who already hold an unencumbered RN license in the United States and wish to apply to the Registered Nurse-Baccalaureate Program (RNBP). Potential transfer students should also know that changing majors into the nursing program from another UNH major is exceptionally competitive.
  • This information applies to new applicants to UNH only, it does not apply to currently enrolled baccalaureate students wishing to change majors to nursing. If you are currently matriculated in a bachelor’s program at UNH and are interested in nursing, please consult the nursing department in Hewitt Hall, 603-862-2299, , and their web site www.unh.edu/nursing.
