Financing Your EducationPlease be advised that international students are not eligible for need-based financial aid and must demonstrate the ability to finance their education. While admission does not depend on your financial status, the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) cannot issue I-20 visa documents without confirming your ability to finance your UNH education. To process your visa paperwork, the OISS requires that you submit a UNH International Applicant Financial Declaration and supporting bank documentation with your admission application. International students are eligible for consideration for scholarships available to out-of-state (non-New Hampshire resident) students. In addition, each year UNH offers a very limited number of merit scholarships to international students. No additional application is required for consideration. To be eligible applicants must meet the minimum out-of-state scholarship requirements. You should not depend on employment in the United States to help pay for school expenses. In most cases, visa regulations will not permit you to hold an off-campus job. There is some on-campus employment available to international students, but you and your family should be prepared to meet the full expense of attending UNH. |
