CEPS-Tyco Scholarship for top engineering and physical science students

The University of New Hampshire and Tyco International have created the CEPS-Tyco Scholarship, a scholarship for selected students admitted to the University’s College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS).

A full four-year scholarship
Awarded to one high school senior each year, this four-year scholarship provides full payment of tuition, fees, and room and board for the four years of undergraduate education at UNH. Includes potential support for independent research opportunities.

Criteria for eligibility
Students who wish to be considered for the scholarship must present credentials that reflect outstanding academic achievement and promise.

These include:

  • Rigorous programs of study including a minimum of five years of mathematics and four years of science, with preference given to Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate Courses.
  • Grades that indicate excellence.
  • Class rank in the top 10 percent (for students attending schools that provide class rank) or equivalent.
  • SAT Reasoning Test scores of 1310+ (Critical Reading and Math only) or a 30+ composite on the ACT with writing test.

Finalists will be selected and invited to participate in a set of interviews to be conducted on the UNH campus the first weekend in March. Applicants will be notified of the results by mid-March.

Students selected as CEPS-Tyco finalists will also receive consideration for the Whelen Scholarship. The College of Engineering and Physical Science anticipates having two, $10,000 per year awards from this scholarship fund. Since financial need is a factor for the Whelen Scholarship, students should submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form by the first week of February.
