CEPS-Tyco
Scholarship for top engineering and physical science students
The University of New Hampshire and Tyco International have created
the CEPS-Tyco Scholarship, a scholarship for selected students admitted
to
the University’s College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS).
A
full four-year scholarship
Awarded
to one high school senior each year, this four-year scholarship
provides full payment of tuition, fees, and room and board for the four
years of undergraduate education at UNH. Includes potential support for
independent research opportunities.
Criteria for eligibility
Students who wish to be considered for the scholarship must present
credentials that reflect outstanding academic achievement and promise.
These include:

Rigorous programs of study including a minimum of five years of
mathematics and four years of science, with preference given to
Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate Courses.
- Grades that indicate excellence.
- Class rank in the top 10 percent (for students attending schools that provide class rank) or equivalent.
- SAT Reasoning Test scores of 1310+ (Critical Reading and Math only) or a 30+ composite on the ACT with writing test.
Apply for Scholarship
Candidates for this scholarship enter a two-stage selection process.
1.To ensure full consideration, the following materials
must be received by November 15, UNH's early action deadline:
- Application for admission to
a major within the College of Engineering and Physical
Sciences at the
University
of
New Hampshire. Eligible majors
- Official high school transcripts, including the first marking period of senior year.
- Official test scores for either the SAT Reasoning Test or ACT with writing test.
2. Submit an additional scholarship
essay through the online form, due by no later than January 18. 3. Submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form by the first week
in February.

Finalists
will be selected and invited to participate in a set of interviews to
be conducted on the UNH campus the first weekend in March. Applicants
will be notified of the results by mid-March.
Students selected as CEPS-Tyco finalists will also receive consideration for the Whelen Scholarship. The College of Engineering and Physical Science anticipates having two, $10,000 per year awards from this scholarship fund. Since financial need is a factor for the Whelen Scholarship, students should submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form by the first week of February.
