UNH In-State Merit Scholarship Information
Dollar amounts and criteria are established for students entering UNH in Fall 2008 and are subject to change.
Typically, students awarded a merit scholarship by the admissions office will meet the criteria described below.

Selection is very competitive, is not automatic, and limited to Early Action applicants. Limited
number awarded each year to the highest caliber in-state admitted
students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement coupled with
notable leadership skills in the school or community.
To be considered, students must meet the following criteria:
- Apply by the Early Action deadline of November 15, 2008
- Top 1-3 percent of graduating class or equivalent level of achievement if unranked or home schooled
- 1310+ SAT (Critical Reading and Mathematics scores only) or 30+ ACT (minimum)
- Challenging college preparatory curriculum characterized by the exhaustion of all academic options in the high school curriculum
- Recommendations that support leadership qualities and potential of the student
- Required participation in the UNH Honors Program

Scholarships
are renewable for up to 8 consecutive semesters of
academic work at the University of New Hampshire provided that the
recipient students make appropriate progress towards their degree, meet
the GPA requirements (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) and demonstrate the
acceptable standards of citizenship and character expected of all
members of the university community.
