First-Year or High School Applicant Instructions

When to Apply

UNH offers an Early Action program and a Regular Decision program for First Year students.

Early Action

You may submit your application by November 15th and receive a decision from us by mid-January. Applying through the Early Action process is not a binding commitment to attend the University of New Hampshire if you are offered admission.

Early Action application outcomes include: admission to UNH; deferral of the final decision until after another review in the Regular Decision process; and denial of admission. Early Action applicants must have taken the SAT Reasoning Test no later than the December 2007 deadline. Early Action applicants who apply for need-based financial aid and are offered admission in January will not be notified of any aid awards until March.

Regular Decision

You may submit your application to UNH by February 1st and receive a decision from us by early April.

Regular decision outcomes include: admission to UNH (students must accept or refuse our offer by May 1); denial of admission; assignment to a waitlist, which will include candidates to whom additional offers of admission may be extended if space permits. Regular decision applicants must have taken the SAT Reasoning Test no later than the January 2007 test date.

Interviews

UNH does not conduct interviews as part of its application process, but we invite you to visit UNH, if possible, to learn more about the University. Click here for a listing of campus visit options.
